Ken Kesey (1935–2001) was an American author best known for his 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, a landmark of American literature set in a psychiatric ward. The book was later adapted into an acclaimed film by Miloš Forman. Kesey was also a central figure of the 1960s counterculture movement.
