About

Kärtsy Hatakka is a Finnish vocalist, bassist and composer, born on 17 December 1967 in Helsinki. He co-founded the crossover band Waltari in 1986 and has written most of its catalogue, which spans metal, industrial, electronics, hip hop and classical music. Beyond Waltari, he composed the soundtracks for the video games Max Payne (2001) and Max Payne 2 (2003) and has released several solo albums. Under his leadership Waltari performed at Roskilde and Wacken Open Air, establishing themselves as pioneers of Finnish metal on the international stage.
