Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf (1739–1799) was an Austrian composer and violinist of the Classical era. He spent much of his career at the court of the Bishop of Jägerndorf in Silesia, producing a large output of symphonies, concertos, and operas. He is best known for his symphonies based on Ovid's Metamorphoses and the comic opera Doktor und Apotheker.
