Julieta Serrano Romero (born 2 January 1933 in Barcelona) is a Spanish stage and screen actress whose career spans more than seven decades. She became one of Pedro Almodóvar's most trusted collaborators, appearing in nearly a dozen of his films from Entre tinieblas (1983) to Madres paralelas (2021). Her role as the mother in Dolor y gloria (2019) earned her the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 86. She has also received Spain's Premio Nacional de Teatro (2018) and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (2019).
Serrano is to appear in the documentary project Pasionaria (2025), where she plays Dolores Ibárruri, and in the project Pedro x Javis (2025).
The actress appeared in the documentary Lo berlanguiano (2024), dedicated to the legacy of director Luis García Berlanga, playing herself.
In 2023, the documentary film El viaje de Julieta was created, mapping her life and career.
Serrano returned to collaboration with Almodóvar in the film Madres paralelas (2021) alongside Penélope Cruz.
At the Goya ceremony in January 2020, Serrano, at age 86, won the award for best supporting actress for the film Dolor y gloria - her first Goya after three nominations.
