Jessica Tandy was a British-American actress who worked across theatre and film. She played Melanie Daniels in Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and decades later won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Driving Miss Daisy (1989), becoming the oldest winner in that category at the time.
