
Advent at the Castle
A festive advent celebration at the Czech Museum of Silver in Kutná Hora with traditional holiday atmosphere and seasonal activities.
Jan Adamus is a leading Czech oboist and English horn player, laureate of the 1977 Prague Spring International Competition. He studied at the Prague Academy of Music, performed across Europe and beyond alongside artists such as Josef Suk and Jiří Bělohlávek, and in 1985 founded the Adamus Trio. He also discovered lost oboe concertos by Carlo Besozzi at Český Krumlov Castle. Zbyňka Šolcová (b. 1967, Prague) is a harpist who graduated from the Prague Conservatory under Prof. Libuše Váchalová and won first prize at the chamber music competition in Neerpelt, Belgium. A founding member of the Musica Dolce Vita trio, she also composes and writes poetry. Together, Adamus and Šolcová perform a programme spanning Baroque to Romantic music under the title Royal Harp and the Magic of the Oboe.
Jan Adamus will perform in October 2025 in Znojmo in the program Virtuoso Organs, the Magic of the Oboe and Heroic Baroque together with organist Jiřina Marešová and Vojtěch Pelka.
Adamus's trio performed in March 2024 in Písek with a program commemorating the two-hundredth anniversary of Bedřich Smetana's birth.
The duo Jan Adamus and Zbyňka Šolcová performed in April 2023 in the Chapel of the Betrothal of the Virgin Mary in Slaný as part of the Circle of Friends of Music.
