Ivan Blatný (1919–1990) was a Czech poet associated with surrealist and existentialist lyric poetry. He debuted in the 1930s and became one of the most distinctive voices of his generation. After 1948 he lived in exile in Great Britain, where he continued writing until his death. His poems remain part of the Czech literary canon and have been set to music by various artists.
