Isaac Babel

About

Isaac Babel (1894–1940) was a Russian-Jewish writer and one of the most significant prose authors of the Soviet era. He is best known for Red Cavalry, a cycle of stories depicting the brutality of the Polish-Soviet War, and the Odessa Tales. He was arrested by Stalin's regime and executed in 1940.
