Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber (1644–1704) was a Moravian-born violinist and composer who spent most of his career at the Archbishop's court in Salzburg. He is best known for his Rosary Sonatas for violin and basso continuo, which make extensive use of scordatura tuning. He ranks among the most important composers of Central European Baroque music.
