Gunnel Lindblom (18 December 1931, Gothenburg - 24 January 2021, Brottby) was a Swedish actress and film director whose career spanned more than six decades. She became closely identified with Ingmar Bergman's cinema, appearing in landmark films such as The Seventh Seal (1957), The Silence (1963), and Wild Strawberries (1957). As a director she made four feature films, with Sally and Freedom (1981) winning the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Montreal World Film Festival; in 2001 she received the Honorary Guldbagge Award for lifetime achievement in Swedish cinema.
Gunnel Lindblom died on January 24, 2021, at the age of 89 in Brottby, Sweden.
Lindblom performed in Strindberg's Dream (Ett drömspel) directed by Anna Pettersson at Strindberg's Intima Teater - one of her last stage performances.
The Stockholm Film Festival honored her with the Stockholm Achievement Award for her lifetime contribution to cinema.
She last appeared on screen in the documentary Searching for Ingmar Bergman (2018) as herself.
On the stage of Dramaten, she played the mother of Tintomary in Almqvist's play Drottningens juvelsmycke during the celebration of the theatre's centenary.
