Good News Band is a Brno-based soul and blues ensemble founded in 2019, inspired by the musical film The Commitments. The fourteen-piece group performs soul and blues material from the late 1960s and early 1970s with a full brass section - two tenor saxophones, alto saxophone, trombone and trumpet - alongside keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. Vocals are shared between a lead male singer and three backing vocalists, each capable of solo work, with roughly half the setlist built around female leads. The band also draws on songs associated with Joe Cocker, Beth Hart and Tina Turner.
