Eva Urbanová

Eva Urbanová (born 20 April 1961 in Slaný) is a Czech operatic soprano and principal artist at the National Theatre in Prague since 1990. She has performed at La Scala, Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and won a Grammy Award for the album Celeste Aida: Famous Opera Arias. Alongside her operatic career - where she is particularly celebrated as Kostelnička in Janáček's Jenůfa and as Smetana's Libuše - she also performs rock and pop repertoire.

In August 2024, Urbanová suspended all artistic activities due to serious cervical spine problems; approximately 25 performances were cancelled.

On February 29, 2024, Urbanová performed for the first time as a soloist at the Prague O2 Arena with a cross-genre concert Grande Finale accompanied by the Epoque Symphony Orchestra.
