Elīna Garanča is a Latvian mezzo-soprano widely regarded as one of the finest opera singers of her generation. She is particularly associated with the title role in Bizet's Carmen, and has built a broad repertoire spanning Mozart, Rossini and Verdi. She performs regularly at the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera and other major houses.
