Erwin Schulhoff was a Czech-German composer and pianist (1894–1942) who blended expressionism, Dadaism, and jazz influences in his work. He studied under Max Reger and was a prominent figure in the interwar European avant-garde. He perished in the Wülzburg concentration camp. His compositions span a remarkably wide range of styles.
