East 17 are a British pop group from Walthamstow, east London, named after the area's E17 postcode. Formed in 1991 with Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell, they sold over 18 million records and racked up twelve top-10 UK singles during the 1990s. Their 1994 single Stay Another Day spent five weeks at number one in the UK and topped the charts in 15 countries, cementing its status as a Christmas classic. The current lineup - Terry Coldwell (the sole founding member), Robbie Craig and Joe Livermore - continues to tour actively.
