Dvalin is a seven-piece pagan/folk metal band from Würzburg, Germany, founded in 2010 under the name Geopfert. They weave traditional instruments - bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy and shawm - into melodic death metal riffs and progressive song structures. Their debut album Aus dem Schatten came out in 2016 on NoiseArt Records; after a lengthy hiatus they returned with the independently released EP Ravenous Dreams in 2023.
Dvalin independently released the EP Ravenous Dreams (November 3, 2023), and the subsequent album release party in Würzburg was sold out.
EP Ravenous Dreams received a rating of 8.7/10 on the folk-metal.nl website and was praised for its progressive approach to combining folk metal and death metal.
