Donny Benét is an Australian singer, songwriter and bassist - born Benjamin Waples in Sydney in 1981 to a family of Italian musicians - who has built a global cult following with his post-disco, synth-funk sound. His six studio albums span from the 2011 debut Don't Hold Back to the 2026 instrumental release Il Basso, with Mr. Experience (2020) breaking him into the ARIA Top 30. He writes, records and produces everything himself, and since 2024 has released music through his own label, Donnyland Records.
