Discopříběh

About

Discopříběh (Disco Story) is a 1987 Czechoslovak musical comedy-drama written and directed by Jaroslav Soukup. The film follows teenage chimney-sweep apprentice Jirka (Rudolf Hrušínský III) and his widowed father (Ladislav Potměšil) on a Plzeň housing estate, propelled by Michal David's pop songs performed by the band Kroky. It drew nearly two million cinema-goers and spawned a 1991 sequel; its songs remain staples of Czech retro culture.
