Dětský folklorní soubor Červánek

About

The children's folklore ensemble Červánek has been based in Hradec Králové at the ZUŠ Střezina arts school since 1979, with several generations of young performers aged 5 to 13 passing through its ranks. The group performs folk dances, songs and customs of eastern Bohemia in traditional costumes, accompanied by its own children's band. It appears regularly at the Pardubice - Hradec Králové Folklore Festival and at events across the country, from Strážnice to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. In Hradec Králové itself, the ensemble has revived the Shrovetide procession, the Smrtholka spring ritual and Christmas carolling.
