The Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice was founded in 1969 by Libor Pešek, making it the first professional orchestra in East Bohemia. With 38 permanent musicians it sits in the classical Haydn-Mozart scale, yet its repertoire spans baroque to contemporary music. The orchestra has performed at the Concertgebouw, Musikverein and Tonhalle, and recorded for Supraphon, Naxos and ArcoDiva. From the 2025/2026 season its chief conductor is the Armenian-French conductor and pianist Vahan Mardirossian.
Vahan Mardirossian opened the 57th season of the orchestra with inaugural concerts on September 15-17, 2025, featuring cellist Yibai Chen, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.
The orchestra made its debut at the Dvořákova Praha festival, where under Mardirossian's direction it accompanied the laureates of the Concertino Praga competition.
The Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic announced the appointment of Armenian-French conductor and pianist Vahan Mardirossian as its new chief conductor from the 2025/2026 season.
The orchestra is included in the program of the 81st edition of the International Music Festival Prague Spring 2026.
In October 2024, the orchestra celebrated 55 years since its first public concert, which took place on October 27, 1969 in Pardubice.
