Čtvrt na smrt is a Prague band blending alternative rock, punk and folk into what they call "nefolk". The project started as the alter ego of poet and musician Jan Vacík in 2013 and grew into a full band in 2019. By 2023 the group had released three studio albums and played over 250 shows at clubs and festivals across the Czech Republic.
The band released the single "Hlásí násilí" with a music video directed by Jakub Čermák; the lyrics were written by frontman Jan Vacík shortly after the shooting at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in December 2023.
Bassist Jakub Hartmann left the band; "Hlásí násilí" is the last recording with his participation.
Between March and May 2025, the band conducted a tour supporting the single "Hlásí násilí" with stops in Prague, Plzen, Tabor, Cesky Krumlov, and other cities.
The band performed as a support act at the album premiere of the band Souhra nehod in Prague.
