Czech band COLORFACTORY plays at Roxy in Prague.
Colorfactory is a Czech-British alternative band whose story began in California in 1990, when Englishman Colin Stuart formed the original American lineup. After that group dissolved, Stuart brought a demo to Prague and in 1993 assembled a new Colorfactory from members of the city's indie scene - David Volenec, Jan P. Muchow, Jan Čechtický, Dušan Lipert and others. Seven songs from their self-titled debut album (1996) became the soundtrack to David Ondříček's cult film Šeptej (Whisper), which made the band a touchstone for a whole generation; the same year they won the Czech Grammy for Best New Act. After a second album, Second Infinity (1999), the band went quiet, then returned to the stage in 2026 for the 30th anniversary of Šeptej.
Colorfactory announced two autumn club concerts: November 18 at Prague's Roxy and November 25 at Brno's Flédě.
The band performed before the screening of the newly restored Šeptej at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where the film celebrated 30 years since its premiere.
President Petr Pavel attended the screening of Šeptej in Karlovy Vary; the film was included in the Special Presentation - Classics section.
Volenec and Muchow hinted in an interview for Radiožurnál that after their Karlovy Vary performance they plan further concerts for fans.
