Blood Red Shoes / UK
British duo Blood Red Shoes brings over twenty years of experience and a distinctive sound built on energy, guitar, and drums.
Blood Red Shoes are a Brighton-based alternative rock duo - Laura-Mary Carter (guitar, vocals) and Steven Ansell (drums, vocals) - who have been making music together since 2004. Over two decades they have released six studio albums, from the debut Box of Secrets (2008) through Get Tragic (2019) to Ghosts on Tape (2022). In 2014 they founded their own label, Jazz Life, giving them full creative and commercial independence. Their sound sits at the crossroads of indie rock, garage rock and noise pop - two instruments, two voices, no filler.
Blood Red Shoes released the single 'Dead Air', created for the horror video game Directive 8020 by Supermassive Games studio.
The band announced an extensive European and British tour for October 2026 and released their first new single 'Screams' since 2023.
Blood Red Shoes released the live album '20 Years of Blood Red Shoes: Live in Paris', recorded on September 13, 2024 at Paris's La Gaîté Lyrique.
The duo performed four anniversary concerts celebrating the band's twentieth anniversary, accompanied on tour by bassist Daniel Rumsey (The Wytches) and drummer James Allix (Tigercub).
The band released the remix album The Stone Tapes in collaboration with Liars, Demob Happy, and DZ Deathrays.
