Bibi Andersson (11 November 1935 - 14 April 2019) was a Swedish actress who appeared in over 90 films, thirteen of them directed by Ingmar Bergman. She is best remembered for The Seventh Seal (1957), Wild Strawberries (1957) and above all Persona (1966), where her performance as nurse Alma remains one of the most studied in European cinema. She shared the Best Actress prize at Cannes 1958 for Brink of Life and won the Silver Bear at Berlin in 1963 for The Mistress.
Bibi Andersson died on April 14, 2019 in Stockholm at the age of 83; the Swedish Film Institute named her one of the greatest actresses in the history of Swedish cinema.
In 2009, Andersson suffered a severe stroke, after which she did not return to an active acting career.
