Babau is an Italian duo - Matteo Pennesi and Luigi Monteanni from Marche - blending exotica, computer music and field recordings into what they call digital folklore. Founded in 2014, they also run the independent label Artetetra and were selected as SHAPE+ artists in 2023. Their latest album, The Sludge of the Land, came out in November 2025.
