Alois Jirásk

Alois Jirásek (1851–1930) was a Czech writer best known for his historical novels and stories depicting Czech history. His works include the collection Staré pověsti české (Old Bohemian Legends) and the novel Temno. A statue of him stands at Jiráskovo náměstí in Prague, near the Vltava riverbank.
