Alf Carlsson/Jiří Kotača Quartet is an international jazz group led by Swedish guitarist Alf Carlsson and Czech trumpeter Jiří Kotača, who first crossed paths as students in Rotterdam. Slovak musicians Peter Korman (double bass/bass guitar) and Kristián Kuruc (drums) complete the lineup. Their music weaves Scandinavian lyricism together with modern jazz, rock, pop and hip-hop, underpinned by live electronics. The quartet's second album Our Stories (2024) won the Anděl Award - the Czech equivalent of the Grammy - in the jazz category.
The quartet performed in October 2025 at the autumn concert series at DKO Jihlava.
The spring tour 2025 included performances at JazzFest Budapest and four Czech venues - Račí údolí, Brno, Trutnov and Praha.
After winning the Anděl Prize 2024, the band announced that in 2025 it will perform in five countries on three continents.
The band released a music video for the song Faith from the album Our Stories.
The album Our Stories was released in May 2024 and won the Anděl Prize in the jazz category for 2024.
