
Traditional Open-Air Concert of the Czech Philharmonic
The Czech Philharmonic closes its season with an open-air concert conducted by Alen Altınoğlu and featuring pianist Marek Kozák.
Alain Altinoglu (born 1975 in Paris) is a French conductor of Armenian descent whose family originally came from Istanbul. Since 2016 he has served as music director of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, and from the 2021/22 season also as chief conductor of the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt - his contract with La Monnaie runs through 2031. He is a regular guest with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, London Symphony Orchestra and other leading ensembles, and teaches conducting at the Paris Conservatoire.
Altinoglu received the Conductor of the Year award at the International Opera Awards 2025, presented in Athens at the Greek National Opera.
La Monnaie announced the extension of its contract with Altinoglu as music director until 2031.
In the 2025/26 season, Altinoglu will return to the Vienna State Opera with Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande and perform with the hr-Sinfonieorchester at festivals in Prague, Dresden, and Frankfurt.
At the Salzburg Festival, Altinoglu will conduct two concert performances of Massenet's Werther with the La Monnaie orchestra (July 29 and August 1, 2026).
Altinoglu concluded the Czech Philharmonic season with an open-air concert at Hradcany Square in Prague together with pianist Marek Kozak.
