About the venue

A four-winged baroque château in the Kroměříž district, built on the site of a medieval fortress first recorded in 1437. It took its current form through successive Renaissance, baroque and classicist rebuilds, with the final layout completed between 1808 and 1817. Since 1993 the descendants of the original owners, the Podstatzký Thonsern family, have been restoring the complex. The château opens to visitors only on occasional guided tours; a landscape park surrounds the building.
