Theatre Performance THE MISER at Lázeň Castle near Chudenice
The Tyjátr theatre group presents Molière's classic comedy The Miser under the stars at Lázeň Castle. This August performance explores themes of greed and human frailty.
Zámek Lázeň is a small Empire-style château built at the end of the 18th century by Jan Rudolf Černín of Chudenice on the slopes of Žďár hill near a healing spring. Originally a spa house, it gradually became the summer residence of the Czernin family and is now a protected cultural monument. Notable visitors included Josef Dobrovský, František Palacký, and František Ladislav Čelakovský. The estate includes an English landscape park, the Americká zahrada arboretum, and the Bolfánek lookout tower. The château itself is closed to the public; the park is freely accessible.
