Jaroslavice Palace

Jaroslavice

About the venue

A Renaissance château on a hill above the village, built on the site of a medieval castle first recorded in 1249. Count Scipio z Archu gave it its current four-winged form with a large arcaded courtyard in 1567; Baroque alterations followed by Domenico Martinelli and Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach. Heritage authorities rank it among the most architecturally significant Renaissance monuments in the Czech Republic - and also among the most endangered, as a long-running ownership dispute has stalled restoration. Films shot here include Andělská tvář, Černí baroni, and Poslední aristokratka.
