Wolf Hill Heights

Krásná Lípa

About the venue

Vlčí hora (Wolf Hill, 591 m) is a forested basalt cone above the village of the same name, about 5 km northwest of Krásná Lípa. Its rocky summit is topped by a brick observation tower built in 1889 - the oldest in the Šluknov region. The 16 m tower stands on volcanic basalt and magnetite bedrock that noticeably deflects compass needles. From the covered viewing platform, on a clear day you can see the Lusatian Mountains ridge, Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland, and as far as the Jizera Mountains. After a fire in April 2023, the tower was repaired and reopened in May 2024.
