About the venue

The Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ÚDU) is a public research institution founded in 1953. Its work covers the history and theory of fine arts, architecture, aesthetics, and musicology. Major projects include the multi-volume History of Czech Fine Arts and inventories of art monuments across Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, and Prague. The institute organises lectures and exhibitions, and publishes the internationally respected journal Umění/Art.
