About the venue

The Hartmanice synagogue dates from the 18th century and is one of the best-preserved rural synagogues in the Šumava region. After decades of neglect it was carefully restored and now serves as a cultural and exhibition space. Concerts, art shows and events recalling the history of the local Jewish community take place here throughout the year.
