About the venue

Sokolská louka is the outdoor sports ground of the Tělocvičná jednota Sokol Vodňany association, situated on the banks of the Blanice river. The Sokol unit was founded in 1869 and reclaimed the site in 1991 when it returned to the Czech Sokol Community. The grounds include a football pitch, a cinder athletics track with a long jump pit and shot put area. Alongside recreational sport and PE classes for the local fisheries school, the venue also hosts concerts, theatre performances and fishing competitions during the annual Vodňanské rybářské dny festival.
