About the venue

Smetana Hall is an Art Nouveau concert hall seating 1,200 in the Municipal House on náměstí Republiky. It was built between 1905 and 1912 to designs by architects Antonín Balšánek and Osvald Polívka, and opened on 5 January 1912. Since 1942 it has been the home stage of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. The hall also hosts Prague Spring concerts, balls, and major ceremonial gatherings.
