About the venue

The open-air amphitheatre in Hořice na Šumavě is the home of the Hořice Passion Play, one of the oldest and largest passion-play traditions in Central Europe, dating back to 1816. The natural stone auditorium accommodates thousands of spectators and performances are staged during the summer months.
