Klimšák Pond Island

Rájec-Jestřebí

About the venue

The small island in the middle of the Klimšák pond, right in the centre of Rájec-Jestřebí, serves as a natural open-air stage. The pond is one of the oldest water-management structures in the area - the sole survivor of a former system of ponds along the Svitava river. Historically, a monument to a member of the Salm noble family stood on the island. Today the town brings professional theatre companies here each summer; the island is reached via an artificial embankment.
