About the venue

The former NH Ostrava football ground on Svazácká street in the Zábřeh district covers around 4.3 hectares and is tied to FC NH Ostrava, which played second-division football here in the 1990s. At its peak the stadium hosted top-flight derbies between Baník and Vítkovice, European cup ties, and stage finishes of the Peace Race cycling event. Today the site sits largely idle - part of the land was absorbed by the adjacent Vodní areál Ostrava-Jih lido, and occasional events such as the Slavnosti Jihu festival or an open-air cinema take place on the grounds.
