The Bauers and Valtice – Exhibition of Botanical Illustrations
An exhibition dedicated to the Bauer brothers showcases their botanical illustrations, colouring techniques, and the art of herbarium-making.
This branch of the National Agricultural Museum occupies a building on Náměstí Svobody whose foundations date to the mid-17th century, when it served the estate administration of the Liechtenstein family. After a major renovation completed in 2019, it houses three permanent exhibitions: the Landscape of the Lednice-Valtice Area, the National Wine Exhibition with a collection of historic presses (the oldest from 1719), and the Mysterious Life in the Soil. Much of the display is hands-on, engaging touch and smell alongside sight.
