Vyškov Museum

Vyškov

About the venue

Muzeum Vyškovska has been housed since 1954 in the old wing of Vyškov Castle, originally a Gothic fortress of the Olomouc bishops. It runs eight permanent exhibitions - seven in Vyškov and one in Bučovice. Highlights include a collection of folk faience pottery, among the most significant in Moravia, and an ethnographic display featuring a Haná farmhouse interior that was shown at the 1895 Prague Ethnographic Exhibition. A separate section covers the life and work of orientalist Alois Musil.
