The Renaissance castle in Moravský Krumlov was built in the mid-16th century when the lords of Lipá had the medieval fortress redesigned by Italian architect Leonardo Garo de Bisono. The four-wing building with a three-storey arcaded courtyard is historically the first arcaded castle in Moravia. Since 2021 all 20 paintings of Alphonse Mucha's Slav Epic are on display here again (the loan has been extended to 2031). The town bought the castle in 2016 and has been restoring it since; the tower, reopened in summer 2022, now serves as a public viewpoint.
