Face to Face with Prehistory: Costumed Cave Tours
Costumed tours of Mladeč Caves featuring guides in historical costumes who recreate prehistoric life and the atmosphere of the Ice Age.
The Mladečské jeskyně lie beneath the limestone hill of Třesín on the edge of the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. The intricate labyrinth of fissure corridors and domes in Devonian limestone ranks among the most important palaeontological and archaeological sites in the Czech Republic - Cro-Magnon people demonstrably lived here more than 31,000 years ago. A 380-metre guided tour route with a small archaeological exhibition is open to visitors; the tour takes about 40 minutes. The caves are open from April to October.
