The Municipal Cultural Centre in Domažlice (MKS) occupies a historic arcaded townhouse right on Náměstí Míru. The building has hosted cinema since 1933; after a reconstruction in 1968 the cinema was renamed Čakan. Today the MKS runs a large hall for concerts and theatre, the Čakan cinema with an open-air summer screen, a puppet theatre hall, and also offers dance courses and educational programmes.
