About the venue

Městská knihovna Polička, located on Palackého náměstí, is one of the oldest libraries in Bohemia, with roots going back to 1813 when the town council established a school library. Today it runs separate sections for adults and children, offers internet access, and hosts exhibitions and lectures. Since September 2019 it also houses Půda, a technical education centre and small makerspace where visitors can try 3D printing, robotics, programming and microscopy. The library additionally provides regional services for 16 municipal libraries in the surrounding area.
