About the venue

The Vlčí důl open-air swimming area on the edge of Bludov near Šumperk was built by volunteer labour between 1953 and 1963 as part of the Akce Z civic programme, fed by the Vitonín stream. The 8,000 m² pool sits among wooded hillsides and draws hundreds of swimmers each season. The site has beach volleyball, a water slide, changing rooms and a pub with an outdoor terrace; the adjacent hotel offers accommodation. Throughout summer the venue hosts sports and cultural events, discos and live-music evenings.
