Church of the Holy Family

Luhačovice

About the venue

The parish Church of the Holy Family was built in 1996-1997 to a design by Prague architects Michal Brix and Petr Franta. Pope John Paul II blessed the foundation stone in April 1990 during his visit to Velehrad - fulfilling a wish the Luhačovice parish had held since 1895. The single-nave church with its 22-metre tower stands in the town centre; the site plan was drawn in the shape of a mandorla. The interior decoration and the outdoor sculpture group of the Holy Family are the work of painter Marek Trizuljak. Just in front of the church rises the mineral spring of St. Joseph, the youngest spring in the Luhačovice spa area.
