About the venue

A single-nave deanery church on the western side of Manětín's main square, documented as far back as 1182. After a devastating town fire it was rebuilt in Baroque style between 1712 and 1717 to a design by Thomas Haffenecker. The high-altar painting Baptism of Christ by Petr Brandl has been a national cultural monument since 2006. A covered passage links the church to the adjacent château, and its attic shelters the largest colony of greater mouse-eared bats in the Pilsen Region.
