About the venue

The concert hall and gallery U Minoritů occupy a former monastery church whose history goes back to the late 14th century. The Minorite friars were active in Uničov until 1815, after which the church passed to the town and was closed entirely after World War II. Reconstruction began in the early 1970s, and the building was ceremonially reopened as a concert hall in 1983. The gallery sits in the former cloister walk and underwent a major refurbishment in 2004, with new lighting and a hanging system installed.
