About the venue

Kmochův ostrov is a natural island on the Elbe river in central Kolín, named after the celebrated bandmaster and composer František Kmoch. It hosts an annual international brass-band festival that ranks among the oldest of its kind in Europe. The open grounds double as an outdoor stage for concerts and other cultural events throughout the season.
